Regional HR technology provider AscentHR has announced the 100% equity acquisition of OS HRS, a trusted Asia-Pacific (APAC) payroll outsourcing firm, in a move that significantly boosts multi-country payroll and compliance capabilities for businesses operating in the Philippines.
The single-stage transaction sees the HR technology provider acquire the Malaysia, Japan, and India units of OS HRS from Tokyo-based BREXA Inc. (formerly Outsourcing Inc.). While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the acquisition integrates a regional team of over 140 payroll and HR professionals into AscentHR’s ecosystem.

For the Philippine market, this consolidation addresses a dual challenge: helping multinational corporations navigate the country’s intricate local tax and statutory regulations, while enabling Philippine-headquartered firms to scale overseas via a single partner.
The deal expands the HR technology provider’s footprint across key markets, including Japan, China, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, and India. It also introduces regional delivery hubs in Malaysia and Japan to complement local operations.
“The Philippines continues to be an important market within our regional strategy,” said Subramanyam Sreenivasaiah, Founder and CEO of AscentHR. “With OS HRS becoming part of our company, we are combining trusted local expertise with broader regional capabilities, enabling us to deliver greater value to customers while creating new opportunities for our employees.”
AI and automation on the horizon
As businesses lean heavily into automation, AscentHR plans to leverage the acquisition to roll out an expanded portfolio of advanced HR technology, analytics, and information security frameworks. Local enterprises are set to gain access to a scalable platform backed by the company’s ongoing investments in artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled capabilities.
Through this unified model, Philippine and multinational enterprises will receive localized support featuring native-language customer service across jurisdictions, alongside faster onboarding timelines for regional payroll rollouts.
In a press release, the HR technology provider stated that the operational integration will be executed in phases to ensure business continuity for all existing clients and partners.
Moving forward, the company intends to position itself as the primary corridor for Philippine organizations expanding their footprints across both APAC and the Middle East.
