JuanHand cybersecurity efforts have earned the fintech lending platform recognition as a “Financial Advocate for Cybersafe Philippines” at the BusinessWorld Cybersecurity Summit 2026.
The recognition was presented to JuanHand, operated by WeFund Lending Corp., during the cybersecurity summit held on July 21 at Hilton Manila, Newport World Resorts. The event brought together government officials, cybersecurity specialists, technology leaders and private-sector representatives to discuss ways to strengthen the country’s digital defenses.

For JuanHand, the recognition highlights its efforts to promote cybersecurity awareness while protecting Filipino borrowers from emerging digital threats.
Strengthening consumer protection
As more Filipinos access financial services through digital platforms, cyber fraud, phishing, scams and illegal lending schemes have also become growing concerns.
JuanHand said its cybersecurity initiatives include partnerships with government and law-enforcement institutions, alongside public education efforts designed to help consumers recognize fraudulent activities and make safer financial decisions.
The company sees cybersecurity and financial inclusion as closely connected. Providing access to credit is not enough if consumers are also exposed to digital risks that could compromise their money or personal information.
“As financial services become increasingly digital, our responsibility goes beyond providing access to credit. We also have a role in helping Filipinos become more informed, vigilant, and confident when navigating the digital financial ecosystem,” said Francisco Roberto “Coco” D.C. Mauricio, President and CEO of WeFund Lending Corp.
“Cybersecurity safeguards access, financial inclusion transforms lives, and together they build a stronger nation,” he added.
Building a safer digital lending ecosystem
The recognition also underscores the growing importance of cooperation between financial technology companies, government agencies and other stakeholders in addressing cybercrime.

JuanHand said it continues to work with government and law-enforcement institutions while expanding consumer education initiatives focused on online scams, fraudulent lending offers and illegal lending practices.
These efforts are particularly relevant as digital lending continues to reach Filipinos who may have limited access to traditional financial services.
The company said its approach combines responsible lending with consumer protection, financial literacy and cybersecurity awareness. By helping borrowers understand potential risks, JuanHand aims to strengthen confidence in digital financial services while encouraging responsible borrowing behaviors.
Financial inclusion with digital safety
JuanHand’s latest recognition comes as cybersecurity becomes an increasingly important part of the Philippines’ digital finance landscape.
For consumers, protecting digital financial accounts requires more than the safeguards provided by financial institutions. Awareness of suspicious messages, fraudulent applications, fake lending offers and attempts to obtain sensitive information remains an important layer of protection.
JuanHand said its commitment to cybersecurity will remain part of its broader financial inclusion efforts.
The fintech has reportedly provided more than ₱1.16 trillion in loans to over 20 million underserved yet creditworthy Filipinos, reflecting the scale of its role in the country’s digital lending market.
The recognition at the BusinessWorld Cybersecurity Summit reinforces JuanHand’s position that expanding financial access must be accompanied by stronger consumer protection and digital trust.
As more Filipinos move their financial activities online, the company’s message is increasingly relevant: financial inclusion works best when access to digital finance comes with the knowledge and protection needed to use it safely.
