BillEase, an on-demand consumer credit that provides financial products such as personal loans, e-wallet top-ups, prepaid load, and gaming credits, has recently integrated the national QR code standard, QRPh, into its platform through a partnership with Asia United Bank (AUB).

This seamless integration empowers BillEase users to effortlessly scan any P2M QR code and leverage their credit limit for both online and offline purchases.

Broadening payment options in PH

With the new enhancement, customers now have access to over 600,000 QRPh-accepting merchants, significantly broadening their payment options.

The new feature also gives merchants and establishments access to a broader customer base that favors digital payments. The QRPh integration streamlines operations, speeds up transaction times, and reduces operational hassles coming with handling cash.

In addition, the integration aligns with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)’s objective of promoting digital payments nationwide.

Despite the prevalence of digital transactions and wallets, cash remains a staple payment method in the Philippines.

By offering a modern alternative, Billease aims to bridge the gap while contributing to the development of a cashless society. This partnership adds to Billease’s existing collaborators like Alipay+, making it the first credit-focused fintech in the Philippines to do so.

Unlocking more opportunities

Kurt Molina, Head of Merchant Products at BillEase, expressed enthusiasm about introducing QRPh to their customers, saying, “We’re thrilled to finally be able to bring QRPh to our customers, unlocking more opportunities for them to conveniently scan and pay wherever QRPh is accepted.”

“By offering QRPh for both in-store and online transactions, we fulfil our commitment to provide Filipinos with flexible payment options through our pay-later and instalment products. Now, our users can enjoy a seamless checkout experience wherever they shop, whether it is at a physical store or an e-commerce site.”

BillEase is the flagship product of FDFC, a financial technology company building disruptive and innovative products in retail credit for Southeast Asia.

Today, the company has 250+ employees across five cities, across two continents, working towards a cheaper and fairer way for Filipinos to access financial services.

BillEase proudly collaborates with over 10,000 directly and indirectly integrated online merchants, including Alipay+, 2C2P, Xendit, PayMongo, and Paynamics. Additionally, the app offers a full range of services such as bill payments, cash loans, e-wallet top-ups, and gaming credits.
