The Palawan Group of Companies has received six honors at the MarkeTech APAC: What’s NEXT in Marketing Advertising Awards Asia Pacific 2026, with its fintech and microinsurance campaigns recognized for combining creative storytelling with financial inclusion.
The awards, presented on July 29 in Singapore, recognized campaigns from PalawanPay and ProtekTODO that sought to make digital financial services and insurance more accessible and relatable to Filipinos.
Award-winning campaigns blend creativity with financial inclusion

Representatives of the Palawan Group receive six awards during the MarkeTech APAC Advertising Awards Asia Pacific 2026 in Singapore.
PalawanPay, the company’s e-wallet with more than 23 million users, won Gold and Silver in the Best Use of Humour in Advertising category for its campaigns “Tindahang Butas,” featuring content creator ArmanSalon, and “2nd Wallet.” Both campaigns were developed in partnership with Katok by GIGIL Manila.
The fintech platform also received a Bronze award for Best Brand Storytelling, recognizing its efforts to connect with consumers through campaigns centered on everyday Filipino experiences.
Meanwhile, ProtekTODO, the group’s microinsurance brand, earned Silver for Best YouTube Campaign and Bronzefor Best Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Campaign for Project Sachet.
The campaign highlights affordable insurance products designed for Filipinos who typically manage household expenses through small, incremental purchases.
Inspired by the country’s long-standing tingi culture, Project Sachet positions insurance as an everyday necessity rather than a luxury by offering coverage starting at ₱20 through partnerships with Liberty Insurance, AlliedBankers Insurance, and Oona Insurance.
Rather than requiring customers to pay large premiums upfront, the campaign emphasizes low-cost entry points intended to make financial protection more accessible to underserved communities.
Awards highlight storytelling’s role in financial inclusion

ProtekTODO’s “Project Sachet” received Silver for Best YouTube Campaign and Bronze for Best Meta Campaign.
Bernard Kaibigan, Chief Marketing Officer of the Palawan Group of Companies, said the awards reflect the company’s focus on creating campaigns that resonate with consumers while addressing real financial needs.
“These awards affirm our belief that the best campaigns are those that resonate with real people and help solve real problems,” Kaibigan said.
“Whether through PalawanPay’s relatable humor or ProtekTODO’s mission to make insurance more accessible, our goal has always been to create communication that is relevant, understandable, and genuinely helpful to Filipinos.”
The recognition places the Palawan Group alongside regional brands recognized for marketing effectiveness while highlighting how financial services companies are increasingly using storytelling to promote financial inclusion.
Why it matters
For fintech companies, marketing has become more than building brand awareness.
As digital wallets and financial services become increasingly competitive, campaigns that educate consumers, simplify complex financial products, and reflect local behaviors can play a key role in driving adoption.
Palawan Group’s wins suggest that creative storytelling — whether through humor or culturally relevant concepts — can support broader financial inclusion objectives while strengthening customer engagement.
