The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has recognized 15 institutions in North Luzon for supporting the country’s financial inclusion, financial integrity, and sustainability initiatives, highlighting the growing role of banks and government agencies in expanding access to formal financial services.
The recognition was conferred during the 2026 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony (OBSAC)held in Baguio City on July 30, where the central bank honored organizations that have worked closely with the BSP in advancing its policy objectives and public service programs.
Central bank governor Eli M. Remolona Jr. said the awardees have helped strengthen confidence in the country’s financial system through their continued collaboration with the central bank.
“The BSP recognizes 15 partners for their strong commitment to financial integrity, inclusion, and sustainability. Through their vigilance, insights, and partnership with the BSP, they have helped strengthen public trust in our financial system,” Remolona said.
BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat emphasized that many of the central bank’s milestones have been achieved through partnerships with organizations that share its commitment to serving the public.
“At the Bangko Sentral, we know that no milestone is achieved alone. Every accomplishment is made possible by partners who share our commitment to serving the Filipino people,” she said.
Banks, DTI offices honored for advancing BSP initiatives

Among this year’s awardees were several BSP-supervised financial institutions, led by multiple branches and operating units of Land Bank of the Philippines, including its Batac, Dagupan, San Fernando (La Union), Tuguegarao Capitol, and Cabanatuan City branches, as well as its San Fernando, Pampanga Cash Operations Unit.
Also recognized were Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company’s Dagupan Branch and La Union Branch Cash Management Services Unit, BDO Unibank’s Tuguegarao Cash Hub, Ilocos Consolidated Cooperative Bank, and Producers Savings Bank Corporation.
The BSP also honored four regional offices of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)—Abra Provincial Office, DTI Region III, DTI Bulacan Provincial Office, and DTI Region II—for supporting programs that contribute to financial inclusion and economic development.
The Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony has been held annually since 2004 to recognize institutions that have made significant contributions to the BSP’s mandates, including promoting financial literacy, maintaining the integrity of the financial system, improving cash operations, and supporting initiatives that expand access to financial services.
The central bank said similar recognition ceremonies will be held later this year for outstanding partners from Greater Manila, South Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
Why it matters
The BSP relies not only on banks but also on government agencies and other institutional partners to implement many of its financial inclusion and public education programs.
Recognizing these organizations underscores the collaborative approach needed to expand access to financial services, strengthen public confidence in the banking system, and support the country’s broader goal of building a more inclusive and resilient financial ecosystem.
