Mastercard has launched a new regional travel campaign aimed at making cross-border payments and travel spending more seamless across Southeast Asia, as intra-regional tourism and digital payment adoption continue to accelerate.
Dubbed “Phone. Passport. Mastercard.”, the campaign spans six Southeast Asian markets — the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam — and brings together more than 300 travel-related offers covering dining, accommodation, transportation, shopping, and local experiences.
The initiative comes as Southeast Asia continues to emerge as one of the world’s most active short-haul travel corridors, supported by growing air connectivity and rising consumer preference for regional destinations. 1

Through partnerships with issuing banks and merchant networks, Mastercard aims to simplify travel payments while encouraging greater use of digital payment methods among travelers moving within the region.
“Travelers today expect convenience, security, and value wherever they go,” said Dheeraj Raina, Senior Vice President and Head of Integrated Marketing and Communications for Southeast Asia at Mastercard. “We’re helping make travel across the region feel more seamless, accessible, and connected, while bringing travelers closer to the local experiences and businesses that make every journey memorable.”
The campaign highlights the payments giant’s expanding role in facilitating cross-border digital commerce, particularly as travelers increasingly rely on cashless transactions for transportation, retail purchases, accommodation bookings, and dining expenses while abroad.

Behind each transaction, Mastercard said its payment infrastructure leverages technologies such as tokenization, multi-factor authentication, and fraud-monitoring systems to help secure payments and reduce the risk of fraud in cross-border transactions.
The company noted that the initiative also benefits merchants and tourism-related businesses by helping them engage travelers across high-frequency travel routes within Southeast Asia.
The launch reflects broader trends in the region’s digital economy, where payment providers are competing to deliver frictionless payment experiences amid growing demand for international digital transactions and travel-related spending.
Running from May to December 2026, the campaign is expected to support both consumer spending and merchant engagement across Southeast Asia’s travel ecosystem, while reinforcing the role of secure digital payments in enabling cross-border mobility and commerce.
Mastercard operates in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide and continues to expand its digital payments footprint through partnerships with financial institutions, merchants, and governments.
