Billease is ending the year with a consumer-focused relief push, launching a full penalty waiver program aimed at helping overdue borrowers regain financial footing.

Through its newly introduced Bagong Simula (fresh start) promo, the buy now, pay later (BNPL) platform is wiping out 100% of accumulated late fees for eligible customers who settle their outstanding balances before December 31, 2025.

The initiative underscores a growing industry trend toward more empathetic and flexible digital lending practices, particularly as many Filipinos continue to juggle constrained household budgets.is closing the year with a significant financial relief initiative for customers with overdue accounts.

The Bagong Simula promo offers overdue users a clean slate by removing all accrued late fees once they pay off their remaining principal, interest, and standard charges. Borrowers receive a unique code via Billease’s official communication channels, which they can use when settling their accounts through the designated payment platform.

Once applied, the system automatically waives all penalties — no additional verification or paperwork required. (IMPORTANT: Borrowers who settle their remaining principal amount, interest, and standard charges before December 31, 2025 automatically receive a 100% waiver on all accrued late fees.)

This streamlined approach is designed to encourage repayment and reduce the burden on customers whose fees may have accumulated over months of financial strain.

A consumer-centered approach

Billease CEO and Co-Founder Georg Steiger said the penalty waiver forms part of the company’s broader effort to support responsible repayment while easing consumer stress.

“We understand that many Filipinos have faced financial challenges over the past years. This campaign is our way of helping customers make a fresh start, free from the weight of accumulated fees,” Steiger said. “By removing these barriers, we aim to rebuild trust, improve repayment recovery, and re-engage customers who want to restore their financial standing.”

Beyond individual relief, the program also helps Billease reconnect with dormant accounts and strengthen customer relationships — a practical move as fintech players increasingly adopt customer-first strategies to sustain long-term loyalty.

Eligibility and key steps

To qualify for the full penalty waiver, borrowers must:

  • Settle their entire outstanding balance (excluding penalties) within the promo period.
  • Use the unique payment code provided by Billease.
  • Make payments through the specified platform to ensure automatic validation.

Partial payments will not qualify for the waiver. Billease encourages customers to monitor notifications via the app, email, and SMS to ensure they receive their code and do not miss the deadline.

A reset for the New Year

As 2025 draws to a close, Billease’s Bagong Simula program offers overdue clients a rare chance to clear longstanding charges and re-enter the new year on stronger financial footing.

The initiative blends practical repayment recovery with meaningful consumer support — a combination that continues to shape the evolution of the Philippines’ digital lending landscape.
