With market volatility and cryptocurrency markets continuing to experience sharp price swings, demand for structured crypto trading education is growing among Filipino investors seeking to improve their understanding of technical analysis and risk management.

The trend comes as more retail traders navigate increasingly volatile digital asset markets, where rapid price movements and emotional decision-making can lead to significant losses.

According to Arlone Abello, crypto educator, market analyst, and chief executive officer of Global Miranda Miner Group (GMMG), many Filipino traders enter the market during bullish cycles but lack the technical knowledge and discipline needed to manage downturns.

“Volatility frequently shocks the community. Filipino investors and traders need to understand that crypto markets are not just about price prediction. They require a solid grasp of support and resistance levels, risk-reward balance, and how to manage exposure under fast-changing conditions, as well as the ability to recognize risks unique to each digital asset,” Abello said.

To address these challenges, GMMG recently launched its Crypto Technical Analyst Executive Course, a face-to-face training program supported by the Philippine Digital Asset Exchange (PDAX). The program aims to help participants strengthen their technical analysis skills, improve trading discipline, and better manage risk in volatile market environments.

The initiative comes at a time when cryptocurrency prices have remained highly volatile.

Bitcoin has experienced multiple sharp corrections, shedding more than half of its value over the past year, including significant sell-offs in 2026, such as a major intraday crash in early February and large-scale liquidations in May.

These downturns have heavily impacted both novice and seasoned traders in the Philippines. Despite the volatility, the country remains one of the world’s most active crypto markets, with an estimated 22-23% of the population holding digital assets.

Abello said many traders continue to underestimate the importance of risk management, often allowing emotions to dictate investment decisions during periods of market uncertainty.

“Beginners and experienced traders should understand that crypto success depends on risk appetite and time tolerance. Our mission in launching the executive course is to educate traders before they trade,” he said.

The executive course is built around GMMG’s proprietary FEAST Trading System and covers technical analysis, market psychology, portfolio risk management, and trading execution. Participants also take part in hands-on mentoring sessions focused on interpreting market behavior, identifying trading opportunities, and developing disciplined trading strategies.

Crypto education expands alongside responsible investing initiatives

Beyond cryptocurrency trading, the program also introduced participants to regulated investment products available in the Philippines, including Retail Treasury Bonds (RTBs) accessible through PDAX, as part of broader discussions on portfolio diversification and responsible investing.

The inaugural batch concluded at the PDAX office in Pasig City, with 30 participants completing the program. The cohort included professionals from the healthcare, engineering, legal, maritime, law enforcement, and business sectors, as well as recent university graduates.

Following the initial run, GMMG said a second batch is scheduled on July 11–12, with plans to expand the training program to Cebu, Davao, and Baguio later this year.

The growing interest in technical education reflects a broader shift within the Philippine crypto ecosystem, where market participants are placing greater emphasis on disciplined investing, risk management, and long-term financial literacy as digital assets become more integrated into mainstream finance.
