Ride-hailing platform inDrive Philippines and its network of partner drivers have mobilized to deliver relief packs to over 250 families affected by severe seasonal flooding in Barangay Masambong, Quezon City.
Working alongside local barangay officials and non-profit organization Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), volunteers distributed emergency bags containing essential food supplies—including rice, canned goods, noodles, and bread—to help residents manage the immediate aftermath of heavy monsoon rains.
The initiative highlights how gig economy platforms and tech-enabled mobility networks in the Philippines are increasingly leveraging their hyper-local driver communities for rapid social response during climate-related disruptions.

For many of the driver-partners who volunteered, the outreach hit close to home, as many reside in vulnerable urban areas frequently impacted by Metro Manila’s monsoon season.
“Our partner drivers know firsthand what it means to keep moving even when conditions are unfavorable,” said Vanessa Taqueban, Driver Operations Lead for the Philippines at inDrive.
“Many of them also come from communities that experience flooding, so they understand what these families are going through. We wanted to come together not just to deliver relief, but to show that we can help one another when communities face difficult times,” she added.
inDrive Philippines Country Manager Sofia Guinto added that the effort reflects the broader role driver communities can play beyond daily transportation services.
“At inDrive, we believe that being part of a community means being there for one another, especially during difficult times,” Guinto noted. “Through inDrive Cares, we want to create opportunities for our employees and partner drivers to come together and support communities that need help.”
The activity was conducted under the banner of inDrive Cares, the platform’s local corporate social responsibility arm established when inDrive began Philippine operations two years ago.
The program has previously organized feeding initiatives and relief distribution during major weather disturbances, including Typhoons Carina, Crising, and Dante, alongside community cleanup projects to mitigate local urban drainage bottlenecks.
