Carrying a physical wallet is becoming optional for EastWest Bank customers.
In a significant move to streamline the digital banking experience, EastWest has officially enabled Google Pay support for its debit cardholders, allowing for seamless “tap-to-pay” transactions via Android smartphones and wearables.
The integration marks a major milestone in the bank’s digital roadmap, positioning EastWest among the local leaders in the Philippines’ rapidly evolving cashless ecosystem.
By adding their EastWest Debit Cards to Google Wallet, users can now execute fast, secure payments for everything from their morning coffee and grocery runs to international shopping sprees.

Backed by the global reach of the Visa network, the EastWest Debit Card on Google Pay is accepted at millions of merchants worldwide. This digital transition eliminates the need for physical cards during checkout, replacing them with a simple tap of a compatible device.
“By enabling EastWest Debit Cards on Google Pay, we are actually giving our customers an easier way to pay — one that fits naturally into how they live, travel, and shop today,” said EastWest CEO Jerry Ngo. “This is part of our broader commitment to deliver secure, globally competitive digital solutions for Filipinos.”
Premium perks for global travelers
The rollout is particularly impactful for EastWest Priority clients.
For those holding the EastWest Visa Infinite Debit Card, the digital integration comes paired with high-value travel benefits. Through March 31, 2026, the bank is offering a promotional period with no foreign exchange bank conversion fees and unlimited free international ATM withdrawals.
Even beyond the promo, the card maintains a competitive edge with a low 1.7% foreign exchange fee and 24/7 access to Visa Infinite Concierge services, making it a powerful companion for frequent globetrotters.
Security at the forefront

While convenience is the headline, security remains the backbone of the integration.
Customers maintain full control through the EasyWay App, which allows cardholders to instantly lock or unlock their cards. This digital “kill switch” provides an essential layer of protection against unauthorized use, ensuring that the ease of mobile payments does not compromise account safety.
This latest feature builds upon EastWest’s existing digital suite, which previously introduced Google Pay for credit cards. By extending this capability to debit users, EastWest continues to bridge the gap between traditional banking and the modern, mobile-first lifestyle of the Filipino consumer
