AIA Philippines and BPI AIA have produced the country’s largest combined number of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) qualifiers this year, with a total of 458 financial advisors earning membership in one of the insurance industry’s most recognized professional organizations.

The figure places the two companies at the top of the Philippine insurance sector by combined MDRT qualifiers in 2026 and secures them spots among the Top 100 MDRT companies worldwide.

Of the total, 184 qualifiers came from AIA Philippines, while 274 represented BPI AIA, the bancassurance joint venture between AIA Philippines and the Bank of the Philippine Islands.

For insurers, MDRT membership is more than a recognition program. It has long been regarded as a benchmark for advisors who consistently meet high production standards while demonstrating professional competence, ethical conduct, and quality service to clients.

Advisory business continues to evolve

The milestone comes as insurers continue investing in their advisory force amid changing customer expectations and the growing use of digital tools in financial planning.

AIA Philippines said its number of MDRT qualifiers increased 26% from last year, reflecting continued investments in advisor recruitment, training, and professional development.

“Our people are at the heart of this achievement,” said Melita Teo, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Philippines. She added that the company continues to equip advisors with new learning platforms, including AI-powered roleplay technology, to help them prepare for real client conversations and deliver more personalized financial advice.

While insurance products have become increasingly digital—from online policy applications to mobile servicing—the role of financial advisors remains central, particularly for customers making long-term decisions involving protection, health, education, and retirement planning.

Bancassurance remains a key growth channel

BPI AIA also maintained its position as the country’s leading bancassurance provider by MDRT qualifiers.

The partnership combines AIA Philippines’ insurance expertise with BPI’s nationwide banking network, allowing customers to access protection and wealth management solutions through bank branches as well as digital channels.

Bancassurance has become an increasingly important distribution model in the Philippines as banks continue expanding beyond traditional deposit and lending services into broader financial planning offerings.

Part of a larger regional network

The local performance also contributed to another milestone for AIA Group, which was recognized as the world’s No. 1 multinational company by MDRT qualifiers for the 12th straight year.

The recognition reflects the performance of the group’s agency organizations across Asia, where AIA continues to invest in advisor development, digital capabilities, and customer engagement initiatives.

For consumers, the growing number of MDRT-qualified advisors may be less about industry rankings than the quality of financial guidance they receive.

As financial products become more complex and planning needs become more personalized, insurers are placing greater emphasis on developing advisors who can build long-term relationships rather than simply sell policies.
