Atome Card Shield is now available to more than three million Filipino cardholders, giving users access to insurance protection directly through the Atome app.
Developed in partnership with Chubb Philippines, the new plan combines online shopping protection and personal accident coverage for just PHP 62 per month, making insurance more accessible for everyday consumers.
Eligible Atome Cardholders aged 18 to 75 who are in good credit standing can activate the coverage within the app, reinforcing Atome’s push to expand financial protection alongside its digital financial services.
Atome Card Shield offers everyday protection
The Atome Card Shield plan provides buyer and purchase protection for online shopping, including coverage against online fraud and unauthorized transactions. It also includes personal accident benefits of up to P150,000, including accidental death while riding a motorcycle.

According to Atome, around 80% of its Philippine cardholders are first-time cardholders who primarily use the card for everyday expenses. For many of these customers, Atome Card Shield will also serve as their first insurance product.
Mari Rachelle Canta, Country President of Chubb Philippines, said affordable and simple insurance solutions help make financial protection more accessible to ordinary Filipinos.
Regional partnership expands embedded insurance
The launch of Atome Card Shield builds on the regional partnership between Atome and Chubb announced in March 2024 to develop embedded insurance products across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
The collaboration first introduced Bill Secure in Singapore before expanding to other markets.

The latest launch also complements Atome’s growing financial ecosystem, which now includes credit, lending, savings, and insurance services. Earlier this month, the company also introduced travel insurance through the Atome app in partnership with Malayan Insurance and regional insurtech Qoala.
Christian Eugene Quiros, President and Country General Manager of Atome Philippines, said the addition of Atome Card Shield strengthens Atome’s vision of becoming an all-in-one financial app that addresses the everyday financial needs of Filipinos.
Expanding financial protection for Filipinos
With Atome Card Shield, Atome continues to broaden its embedded finance strategy by integrating insurance into its digital platform. The launch highlights the growing role of fintech companies in making financial protection more affordable and accessible, particularly for first-time cardholders seeking convenient and low-cost insurance solutions.
