The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has launched InstaPay for businesses, raising the maximum transfer limit for registered enterprises from ₱50,000 to ₱500,000 per transaction. The move is expected to make high-value digital payments more efficient for businesses while supporting the country’s ongoing push toward a more inclusive and cash-lite economy.
With the higher transaction ceiling, businesses can now use InstaPay for larger supplier payments, payroll transactions, and other commercial transfers that previously required multiple fund transfers or alternative payment channels.
Higher Transfer Limits for Business Payments
The introduction of InstaPay for Business marks a significant enhancement to the country’s real-time retail payment system. Previously, InstaPay transactions were capped at ₱50,000 per transfer, a limit that worked well for individual consumers but often fell short for business needs.

By increasing the maximum transfer amount to ₱500,000, the BSP aims to simplify commercial transactions while reducing operational inefficiencies caused by transaction limits. Businesses can now settle larger payments instantly without splitting them into multiple transfers.
The enhanced service is available to registered enterprises, enabling companies to send higher-value payments securely through participating financial institutions.
Supporting the Growth of Digital Payments
The higher transfer limit aligns with the BSP’s broader digital payments agenda, which encourages greater adoption of electronic payment channels among businesses and consumers.

As more companies digitize their financial operations, demand has grown for payment systems capable of handling larger transaction values without sacrificing speed or convenience.
For many small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), the expanded limit could improve cash flow management by allowing immediate settlement of supplier invoices, inventory purchases, and service payments. Larger businesses may also benefit from faster interbank transfers that reduce reliance on checks and other manual payment methods.
The initiative further strengthens InstaPay’s role as one of the country’s primary real-time payment rails alongside PESONet, giving businesses more flexibility in choosing the most suitable payment option based on transaction size and urgency.
A Boost for the Digital Economy
The rollout of InstaPay for businessses reflects the BSP’s continued efforts to modernize the Philippine payments ecosystem and encourage greater digitalization across the business sector.
By enabling real-time transfers of up to ₱500,000, the central bank is helping businesses complete high-value transactions more efficiently while supporting the wider adoption of secure digital payment solutions.
As enterprises continue embracing digital finance, initiatives such as InstaPay for businesses are expected to strengthen the country’s payment infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate the transition toward a more digitally connected economy.
