Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) is strengthening its digital banking offering with an enhanced mobile app that enables customers to open accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, deposit checks, and manage savings without visiting a branch.

The bank said the updated PSBank Mobile app is designed to streamline everyday banking by bringing a wide range of financial services into a single platform, reflecting the growing demand among Filipinos for convenient and fully digital banking experiences.

Customers can open a PSBank account directly through the app using a valid government-issued ID and a selfie, eliminating the need to visit a physical branch. The account comes with no minimum initial deposit and no maintaining balance requirement, lowering the barrier for users looking to start their banking journey digitally.

Beyond digital onboarding, the app supports a range of everyday banking services, including real-time balance monitoring, fund transfers, QR-based payments and collections, bill payments, and account management features.

PSBank has also integrated biometric authentication into the app, replacing one-time passwords (OTPs) for eligible transactions to provide a faster and more secure user experience. Customers can also lock or unlock their ATM cards, update their PINs, and manage account settings directly from their mobile devices.

The bank said the platform aims to simplify routine financial transactions while giving customers greater control over their accounts.

For savings customers, PSBank Mobile allows users to open a Time Deposit account digitally with a minimum placement of PHP10,000. Customers may choose between 30-, 60-, and 90-day terms without needing to visit a branch.

The app also supports mobile check deposits of up to PHP100,000 by allowing users to capture and submit check images through their smartphones. The feature is available to customers maintaining a total deposit relationship balance of at least PHP50,000 across their combined deposit accounts.

The continued expansion of PSBank’s mobile banking capabilities reflects a broader trend across the Philippine banking industry, where traditional financial institutions are accelerating digital transformation to compete with digital banks and fintech firms.

As Filipino consumers increasingly expect banking services to be available anytime and anywhere, incumbent banks are investing in mobile-first experiences that combine account opening, payments, savings, and self-service account management within a single application.

Customers can also schedule bill payments in advance and send or receive money via QR, allowing them to complete routine financial transactions without visiting a branch.

The app is available for download through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.

PSBank, the retail banking arm of Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank), has been expanding its digital banking services alongside its nationwide network of more than 250 branches and over 500 ATMs as it continues to strengthen its omnichannel banking strategy.
