Sim racing is rapidly evolving from a gaming niche into a high-fidelity digital motorsport experience, and Logitech G is betting that hardware innovation will define the next stage of growth.

The company has officially unveiled the RS50 Direct Drive Wheelbase with TRUEFORCE technology alongside the RS Pedals, expanding its modular Racing Series ecosystem aimed at both entry-level users and competitive sim racing enthusiasts.

The launch underscores a broader industry trend: the convergence of gaming, simulation technology, and real-world physics, as manufacturers push for increasingly realistic home-based racing setups.

While primarily positioned in the gaming and simulation space, the rise of high-performance peripherals like the RS50 also reflects a broader fintech-adjacent shift in the digital economy—where immersive, hardware-driven experiences are increasingly tied to digital platforms, subscription ecosystems, and in-game economies that rely on secure payments, digital wallets, and cross-platform monetization models.

At the center of the new system is the RS50 wheelbase, powered by a direct-drive motor capable of delivering up to 8Nm of torque. Unlike traditional belt- or gear-driven systems, direct drive setups transmit force feedback directly from motor to wheel, allowing for more accurate and responsive handling.

Logitech’s proprietary TRUEFORCE technology further enhances realism by processing in-game physics data in real time. According to the company, the system can interpret road textures, engine vibrations, tire slip, and other telemetry inputs at thousands of updates per second, converting them into physical feedback experienced by the user.

“RS50 is designed to be the beating heart of a modern sim racing setup,” said Richard Neville, Senior Global Product Manager for Simulation at Logitech G. “The combination of torque precision and TRUEFORCE immersion allows drivers to feel every nuance of the track, from grip changes to surface irregularities.”

The RS50 also supports up to 2700 degrees of rotation, allowing compatibility across a wide range of driving simulations, from circuit racing to rally and truck simulation titles.

Precision control through load cell pedal technology

Complementing the wheelbase is the RS Pedals system, which introduces a more advanced approach to braking and throttle control.

The brake pedal is built around a 75kg load cell sensor, measuring pressure rather than distance traveled. This design mirrors real-world braking systems more closely, enabling more consistent modulation and control under high-performance conditions.

The accelerator uses Hall Effect sensor technology, which reduces mechanical wear while improving long-term input consistency. Users can also customize pedal feel through adjustable resistance configurations, software tuning via G HUB, or hardware-based modifications.

Racing driver Suellio Almeida noted that load cell braking systems offer a more realistic driving experience. “Muscle memory responds better to pressure than movement. That precision changes how you approach braking zones entirely,” he said.

Modular ecosystem designed for scalability

KV 5 RS50

A key focus of the Racing Series is modularity, allowing users to build or expand their setups over time.

A standard RS50 bundle includes the wheelbase, RS Round Wheel, RS Wheel Hub, and table clamp system, making it accessible for first-time sim racers. Additional components such as pedals, shifters, and accessories can be integrated depending on user preference and skill level.

Logitech G also introduced the RS H-Shifter, a 7-speed manual shifter designed for users seeking a more tactile driving experience. Built with Hall Effect sensors and reinforced materials, the device is engineered for durability and consistent performance over extended use.

The inclusion of customizable ergonomics and multiple mounting options positions the ecosystem as adaptable for both casual desk setups and full racing rigs.

Focus on durability and sustainable engineering

KV 4 RS50

Beyond performance, Logitech G is also emphasizing durability and environmental considerations in the RS50 design.

The system incorporates a right-to-repair approach, with key components designed for replaceability to extend product lifespan. The wheelbase is constructed using low-carbon aluminum and 74% post-consumer recycled plastic, excluding wiring and packaging.

This reflects a growing trend in hardware manufacturing, where sustainability and repairability are becoming key differentiators in consumer tech markets.

Pricing and availability

The Logitech G RS50 Direct Drive Wheelbase is priced at ₱45,995, while the RS Pedals and RS H-Shifter are available at ₱9,995 each. The Racing Series lineup is now available through Logitech G’s official Shopee and Lazada stores, as well as authorized retail partners in the Philippines.

As sim racing continues to gain traction among both gamers and motorsport enthusiasts, Logitech G’s latest release signals a continued push toward more immersive, data-driven, and scalable home racing systems.

In a market where realism is becoming the new benchmark, Logitech G is positioning its Racing Series as a bridge between gaming performance, motorsport precision, and the wider digital ecosystem that supports today’s connected, platform-driven consumer experiences.
