SSS Loan Lite gives eligible Social Security System members another option for short-term borrowing, with loans ranging from ₱1,000 to ₱20,000 available through the RCBC DiskarTech app.
The microloan program, launched by the SSS and RCBC, is designed to provide members with faster access to small-value loans without requiring employer approval. Applications also undergo real-time eligibility validation, with loan decisions made immediately.
How the SSS Loan Lite works
Eligible members can apply for SSS Loan Lite through the RCBC DiskarTech app, with repayment periods of 15, 30, 60, or 90 days.

Loan amounts start at ₱1,000 and go up to ₱20,000, giving members flexibility depending on their short-term financial needs.
According to details shared by SSS, the interest rate is 8% per year, equivalent to around 0.67% per month. Borrowers should still review the complete terms and any applicable fees before accepting a loan.
Who can apply?
Members need at least 12 months of SSS contributions to qualify for the program. Unlike some traditional salary loan processes, SSS Loan Lite does not require employer approval.
The system also validates eligibility in real time, allowing applicants to receive an immediate loan decision. Once approved, the loan can be disbursed instantly through the designated digital channel.
Another feature of the program is that members may still qualify even if they have an existing SSS loan, subject to the program’s eligibility requirements.
Digital access to SSS borrowing
The partnership brings SSS short-term borrowing into a digital banking environment, potentially making the application process more convenient for members who prefer using their smartphones.
RCBC DiskarTech also offers the MySSS Card, which can provide members with easier access to SSS-related services and facilitate SSS loan disbursements.
The digital setup reflects the broader shift toward making government-linked financial services more accessible through mobile platforms.
A new option for short-term needs
For SSS members facing immediate expenses, SSS Loan Lite provides another borrowing option without the longer process associated with some traditional loan applications.
However, short-term loans can still add to a borrower’s financial obligations. Members should compare the total repayment amount, understand applicable fees, and ensure that the repayment schedule fits their budget before applying.
With loan amounts of up to ₱20,000 and terms as short as 15 days, the program is positioned as a digital option for members looking for relatively small, short-term financing.
