Rural banks in the Philippines are now poised for a digital revolution.
At the recent 71st Annual National Convention and General Membership Assembly of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP), a strategic partnership between UNAWA, a leading digital transformation solutions provider, and EcoGlobal, a prominent core banking platform provider, was announced.

Rural banks soon to be empowered with innovative technology
This collaboration is set to empower rural banks with innovative technology that will supercharge financial inclusion and operational efficiency as it brings together UNAWA’s suite of digital solutions, including electronic signatures, digital forms, and Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) name screening technology, with EcoGlobal’s core banking platform, ECOSLAi.
At the same time, this integration also streamlines compliance processes for rural banks, reducing human error and offering a more seamless transaction experience for their customers.
“This partnership is more than just about technology,” said Atty. Jacinto, UNAWA’s COO and Co-Founder. “It’s about uplifting rural banking by simplifying and streamlining regulatory compliance.
“By automating these processes, we free up rural banks to focus on their core mission: serving and growing their communities. This paves the way for a more inclusive and digitally enabled future for the sector,” he added.
The RBAP convention, held in Manila from November 12 to 13, proved to be a platform for showcasing the transformative potential of technology. Atty. Jacinto’s enthusiasm was palpable as he highlighted the positive impact this partnership will have on digital transformation within rural banks.
Built on the foundation of financial inclusion, economic growth
EcoGlobal’s core banking ecosystem, ECOSLAi, is built on the foundation of financial inclusion and economic growth. The partnership with UNAWA is part of their larger strategy to empower rural banks through collaboration with key digital solutions providers.
Other partners introduced at the event included Mindox, FlexM, FinScore, and Triseed Solutions – all committed to supporting rural banks with innovative tools.
Throughout the convention, EcoGlobal displayed their offerings and partner technologies, inviting attendees to explore how ECOSLAi, along with UNAWA and other leaders in the field, is shaping the future of rural banking in the Philippines.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for rural banks to discover comprehensive digital tools designed to optimize operations and keep pace with evolving regulatory requirements.
This partnership between UNAWA and EcoGlobal signifies a significant step forward for rural banks in the Philippines. By embracing digital transformation through cutting-edge solutions, rural banks will be better equipped to serve unbanked and underserved communities, contributing positively to financial inclusion and overall economic development.
