In a recent celebratory dinner, RCBC President and CEO Eugene Acevedo said that the bank’s partnership with Mastercard has been instrumental to the growth story of RCBC.

“It has complemented our suite of bank products and services through scaled-up offerings and wider accessibility,” Acevedo said, “and it aligns well with our goal of providing our clients with a safe, secure, and delightful banking experience anywhere in the world.”

For his part, Manny Narciso, RCBC Executive Vice President and Head of Global Transaction Group, said, “This partnership remains essential not just to the card payment business, but also to the economy, as this will help drive consumer spending.”

To date, RCBC and Mastercard continue to offer cardholders greater benefits and easier ways to pay through its RCBC Debit Mastercard.

From curated offers across e-commerce, dining, shopping, and travel, to progressively enabling quick, convenient, and safe check-outs with Tap & Go™ payments (contactless), the bank has consistently been able to provide for all of its customers’ needs.

A solid partnership

Throughout the span of RCBC and Mastercard’s collaboration, the Yuchengco-led bank has been able to design award-winning campaigns and programs that leverage the perks and privileges of Mastercard to promote usage.

These awards include this year’s “2022 Global Banking and Finance Review’s Best Banking Product in the Philippines,” the “2021 The Asian Banker Philippine Awards’ Best Customer Loyalty/Reward Initiative,” and the “2021 International Finance Awards’ Best Customer Loyalty Program,” among others.

One of the bank’s most notable programs, which was designed for the emerging mass affluent, is RCBC’s Hexagon Club Privilege Debit Mastercard. This particular card catered to the unique needs of the segment with premium banking services and perks both inside and outside of RCBC’s branches. The said program has actually helped RCBC bag the “Excellence in Mass Affluent Banking by the RBI Trailblazer Awards.”

Another program is RCBC’s “Christmas in Your Cards Promo,” which secured a Platinum award in the 2021 Marcom Awards. It was a holiday campaign designed to transform every debit or prepaid card purchase into a rewarding experience.

For this campaign, RCBC used mass personalization at scale which allowed the bank to segment and serve content based on their interests, needs, and shopping habits.

A plethora of services

“Mastercard is pleased to partner with RCBC, a multi-awarded bank at the forefront of digital banking solutions to design seamless, intuitive, and secure digital banking experiences that meet the everyday needs of consumers,” said Simon Calasanz, Country Manager of Mastercard in the Philippines.

RCBC Debit Mastercard cardholders can further stretch their peso through Priceless Specials, where they can browse a plethora of Mastercard-exclusive regional offers and benefits across travel, culinary, sports and entertainment, as well as shopping.

Users can also take advantage of the bank’s ongoing calendar of domestic offers with key merchants from retail to e-commerce.

All RCBC Debit Mastercard cards will be progressively enabled for Tap & go payments in the coming years. Tap & go, or contactless payments, are a quick, convenient, and safe way to make everyday purchases, without the hassle of looking for cash and waiting for change.
