Maya and Dragonpass make premium travel as simple as a tap

Filipinos can now enjoy premium airport lounge access with just a few taps on their smartphones, thanks to a new partnership between Maya, the country’s #1 digital bank and all-in-one fintech platform, and Dragonpass, a global leader in travel and lifestyle services.

Through this collaboration, Maya Black Credit Card holders can access participating airport lounges worldwide directly from the Maya app, eliminating the need for separate registrations, additional apps, or complicated procedures.

Users simply tap the Lounge Access tile, generate a QR code, and enjoy a stress-free pre-flight experience.

“Maya Black reflects our goal to make premium experiences truly accessible,” said Shailesh Baidwan, President of Maya Group and Co-Founder of Maya Bank.

“Through Dragonpass, our customers can now enjoy global lounge access directly from the app they already use for everyday banking — proof that financial innovation can be both practical and delightful,” he added.

Echoing this, Emre Dilmen, Chief Commercial Officer of Dragonpass, noted: “This initiative with Maya represents the future of travel convenience. By embedding lounge access within the Maya app, we’re merging world-class travel experiences with everyday digital banking. Together, we’re making premium travel effortless for more Filipinos — right from the app they already trust.”

Dragonpass: Philippines’ first in-app global lounge access

Maya’s integration of Dragonpass via API makes it the first fintech platform in the Philippines to offer global lounge access directly within its app.

This move is part of Maya’s broader mission to democratize premium banking, combining travel, rewards, and financial empowerment in one seamless experience.

Each Maya Black cardholder receives one complimentary lounge pass per quarter, valid at participating airports in the Philippines and abroad.

The lounge access feature complements a growing suite of lifestyle perks offered by Maya Black, including numberless card design, instant spend management, AI-driven fraud protection, and high-value Maya Miles.

By turning what used to be complex travel privileges into a simple in-app experience, Maya highlights how fintech innovation can create moments of everyday delight, making banking not only smarter but more human.

Making premium credit accessible

The launch of Maya Black also addresses long-standing gaps in credit access in the Philippines.

According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), 56% of adults found it challenging to obtain a credit card in 2021, and only 15% held one as of 2023, per TransUnion data.

“Maya is changing the game by pairing digital-first credit access with meaningful lifestyle rewards,” said Baidwan. “What was once considered an elite privilege is now available to more Filipinos, anytime, anywhere —right from their phones.”
