Users of a popular digital wallet app will be delighted to know that they can now quickly scan to pay for their purchases in more merchants nationwide.

This developed after Maya announced that it is now QR Ph code compliant and can now be used to scan-to-pay AUB, GCash, Metrobank, and Unionbank QR codes at certain favorite stores.

The Maya app is now QRPH code compliant.

QR Ph is the national QR code standard launched by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) last November 2019 that allows payment among participating banks and e-wallets in the Philippines.

Using this new standard, BSP-supervised financial institutions can now read QR codes regardless of the source.

This means that if you have a QR Ph-compliant QR code, you should be able to scan and pay using any of the BSP’s supported e-wallet or online banking facilities such as AllBank (A Thrift Bank), Inc., Asia United Bank Corporation, Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank, Inc., China Banking Corp., Land Bank of the Philippines, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, Starpay Corporation, Tayocash Inc., Union Bank of the Philippines, USSC Money Services, Inc., Zybi Tech Inc., and Lulu Financial Services.

To start paying with Maya using the QR codes of these e-wallets and banks, just look for the QR Ph logo featuring the blue, red, and yellow design in the middle. This logo was launched by the BSP recently and is now considered the national standard for QR payments.

Maya, the first fintech to adopt QR Ph in the country

Maya is the first financial technology (fintech) in the Philippines to adopt the QR Ph national standard for person-to-person payments in November 2019 and for person-to-merchant payments in April 2021.

As a leader in QR Ph adoption, Maya fully supports the BSP’s thrust for interoperable payments, including QR Ph, making convenient cashless payments more accessible to Filipinos. It also supports the Philippine central bank’s various initiatives and regulations on financial inclusion.

Maya is the all-in-one money app that brings Filipinos bolder ways to master their money. Aside from enabling users to pay via QR, it also empowers users to manage all their finances in just one app.

Completely free to download and register, it packs several features such as an e-wallet, a digital bank, and practically all other financial tools that a customer might need in order to save, spend, grow, and manage their money right from their own smartphone.

The app is powered by the country’s only end-to-end digital payments company, PayMaya Philippines, and Maya Bank for digital banking services.

To start enjoying this new service, just make sure that your Maya Business app is updated to the latest version. On the home screen, just press “Maya QR” to generate and see your QR Ph code. If you already have an existing QR code, this will automatically be changed to a QR Ph code.
