Luvit officially launched its new flexible payment card in the Philippines, aiming to provide more Filipinos with access to digital financial tools traditionally limited to banked consumers.
Unveiled during a media launch, the Luvit Card is available in both virtual and physical formats and can be used across Mastercard’s global merchant network. The company said the product was designed to help users manage everyday expenses through installment-based repayments integrated directly within the Luvit app.
According to Luvit, users can receive approval in as fast as 90 seconds, with spending limits reaching up to PHP 200,000 and repayment terms ranging from three to six months.
The company also highlighted interest-free payment periods of up to 40 days after the billing date.
Addressing gaps in financial access
During the event, executives emphasized that the product was created to address long-standing barriers preventing many Filipinos from accessing traditional credit products.

Francisco “Coco” Mauricio, President and CEO of FinVolution
Francisco “Coco” Mauricio, President and CEO of FinVolution, Luvit’s parent company, said the initiative is rooted in the group’s broader mission of financial inclusion and empowerment.
“Everyone deserves to have financial access, because financial access leads to financial freedom, which leads to financial empowerment,” Mauricio said during the presentation.
He noted that traditional credit applications often require multiple documents, including proof of billing, proof of income, and other requirements that many Filipinos struggle to provide.
According to Mauricio, only a small percentage of Filipinos currently have access to credit cards, leaving a significant portion of the population without flexible payment options.
“More than 90% of Filipinos don’t have a financial tool, whether virtual or physical, that allows for flexible payments,” he said.
Flexible payments for everyday spending
Luvit positioned the card as a solution for consumers dealing with temporary cash flow gaps rather than a long-term inability to pay.
“Filipinos actually want to live the life they deserve, and we can afford it. Sometimes, it’s just cash flow gaps,” Mauricio explained.

The company said the card can be used for everyday purchases, travel, shopping, and other spending moments where users may prefer installment-based payments instead of lump-sum transactions.
Executives also stressed responsible borrowing and financial discipline during the launch.
“Utang is a very powerful tool to use to empower yourself,” Mauricio added, while emphasizing the importance of financial literacy and responsible spending habits.
Simplified onboarding experience
Luvit’s brand head, Eman Vera, said the platform focused heavily on improving user experience and simplifying onboarding.
“We have improved the UI so it’s very easy to sign up and use the app,” Vera said.
The company said its simplified application process aims to make financial tools more accessible to users who may not qualify for traditional banking products.
Throughout the event, Luvit repeatedly highlighted its campaign message, “Live it, Luvit,” encouraging consumers to balance present-day experiences with responsible financial management.
