Strengthening partnerships with the public sector

With the theme, “Innovative and Inclusive: The Future of Digital Financial Services”, this year’s hybrid event is being conducted in partnership with public sector organizations. It is slated to be held at the Seda Ayala Center Cebu on November 18, with GCash aiming to turn the conference into a platform that could further strengthen its partnership with the public sector.

“We’re firm believers of public-private cooperation. That’s why we look forward to turning this conference into a platform that could further strengthen our partnership with the public sector. We also want to shine a spotlight on innovations that could help create a more financially inclusive nation,” said Martha Sazon, President and CEO of GCash, in a press statement.

In addition, Cathlyn Dolor Pavia, AVP and Head of Public Sector and Partnership of GCash, will discuss the “Pillars for Digital Financial Inclusion” while Tony Isidro, President and CEO of Fuse Lending, will talk about “Bridging the Digitalization Gap with Accessible Financial Services for All.”

Representatives from the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will also grace the gathering to discuss the regional implementation of Paleng-QR PH, a new program created by the two government agencies meant to help further expand the country’s digital payments ecosystem.

Greg E. Baccay, Head of Regional Economic Affairs at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), will open the discussion with a presentation about the government’s Paleng-QR PH program.

Paleng-QR promotes cashless payments among market vendors, community shopkeepers, as well as tricycle operators and drivers nationwide.

Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Censoria Cajes-Yap and Lapu-Lapu City Major Junard “Ahong” Q. Chan, will then talk about the adoption and implementation of the Paleng-QR program in their respective localities. Other local government leaders in the Visayas are also set to pledge their support to the initiative during the event.

Finally, ‘One With The Nation will feature a testimonial from Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, to be followed by case studies of vendors and tricycle organizations, and a panel discussion.
