Participants were also given a refresher course on the basics of central banking. The two-day session was held in Baguio City from April 25 to 26, 2023.

“The BSP becomes more effective at what it does when what we do and why we do what we do are well communicated and understood by the public whom we serve,” BSP Governor Felipe M. Medalla said in a recorded message.

The governor also said that journalists play a critical role in fostering public awareness and appreciation of the BSP’s work in promoting price stability, financial stability, and a safe and efficient payment system.

Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, for her part, underscored BSP’s commitment to continuously engage with media professionals all over the country.

“By equipping journalists with the knowledge and skills to understand the financial system, we enhance the BSP’s ability to reach out and empower more Filipinos to make informed financial decisions,” she stated.
