Starting today, all you’ll need to open a savings account is an ID. And one good selfie to boot.

That’s right! Banking has just been made easier after China Bank launched its START app, which allows an individual to open an account online using only a mobile phone. No more hassle of waiting in line. Best of all, there is no initial deposit required.

All it takes now to open an account at China Bank is one good selfie. No initial deposit is required.

China Bank Corporation (CBC), one of the leading universal banks in the Philippines, introduces one of its newest mobile applications to make the opening of savings accounts easier, convenient, and affordable for non-China Bank users who want to start saving to achieve their financial goals.

With just a few taps on your phone, you can conveniently open an account any time, anywhere — even abroad — as long as you have an Internet connection.

START opening an account now

Filipinos aged 18 and above who have no existing China Bank account but have an active mobile number, e-mail address, and a permanent Philippine address are eligible to open an account using the START app.

Clients may opt to save through China Bank’s ATM Peso Savings Account or through the Bank’s Overseas Kababayan Savings Account designed especially for OFWs and their beneficiaries.

After successfully opening an account through China Bank’s START app, customers can begin making transactions immediately like transferring and receiving funds, reloading (mobile, game, or toll credits), paying bills, and many other financial services via the China Bank Mobile App.

“Our aim is to make banking more inclusive and convenient through robust digital solutions. China Bank START enables Filipinos wherever they are in the world, particularly those who don’t have a China Bank account yet, to easily and securely open an account using a mobile phone,” said Manuel C. Tagaza, China Bank Chief Digital Officer.

China Bank START was designed to help remove the difficulties of opening an account in an effort to encourage more Filipinos to try banking and to start securing their financial future.

The app is available for free download on App Store and Play Store. For more information, visit China Bank’s official website at www.chinabank.ph
