As an added feature to its existing remittance feature, Capital A’s BigPay has announced the launch of a new financial service in Indonesia and the Philippines. Called “Cash Pickup,” the service allows its users to send money to these countries even if their recipients don’t have a bank account.

Designed specifically to cater to BigPay users in Malaysia and Singapore, the service feature is currently available in more than 14,000 pick-up locations across Indonesia and the Philippines.

During its launch, the company said the feature was added due to Indonesia and the Philippines having a substantial number of individuals who are unbanked. The two countries also offer the strongest corridor that has the highest number of outbound remittances coming from Malaysia and Singapore.

Capital A believes in a financially borderless world, where everyone has equitable access to the products that they need. With this new feature, the company hopes to bridge the technology gap and help families gain secure access to their funds without the need for a bank account.

To send money via the BigPay app, users only have to select the amount to be remitted together with the pickup location. Recipients can then head to designated pickup locations within the specified timeframe, input the unique PIN and show their ID. They will then receive the funds sent in just a matter of minutes.

In the Philippines, Cash Pickup is available at any BDO Cash Pickup, M Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier, Palawan Pawnshop, LBC Express, SM Counters, BPI, Metrobank, and RD Cash Padala Pawnshop locations.

Recipients in Indonesia, meanwhile, can collect from any POS location.
