Almost P1 billion changed hands for stolen Philippine data on the Dark Web. This was revealed in a recent study by NordVPN, an Internet security company.

Driver’s licenses, IDs, emails, passwords, credit card data, and online accounts were just some of the illegal data sold in the dark web market.

NordVPN said a Philippine driver’s license sells for P417 while credit card data go for more than a thousand pesos.

A hacked Netflix account can be bought for P524.8, an Uber account for P629.76, and a Twitter account for as little as P105,” the report said.

NordVPN added that more than 720,000 items and data prices worth more than P908 million have been sold in the dark web market when the research data was received on April 1, or before the peso hit P55 to a dollar.

The Philippine dark web market is just one of over 30,000 websites on the dark web at the moment added NordVPN.

Hackers get access to users’ various digital assets by using leaked passwords or emails in a process called credential stuffing.
