A new one-stop-shop app for tourists and frequent travelers has officially arrived in the Philippines!

Introducing the airasia Super App, one of the fastest-growing integrated digital travel and lifestyle system in the ASEAN region that allows passengers to compare and book flights to more than 3,000 destinations. It also allows users to choose from over 700 different airlines.

Aside from flights, customers can also conveniently book hotels, travel packages, activities, car rides, and even parcel deliveries. They can also shop for food, clothes, and other products at lower prices with just a few taps on the app. Since its global launch, airasia Super App has already partnered with over 200,000 hotels in order to secure the best deals.

After its successful launch in Malaysia and Singapore, the system is now being launched in the country to help further stimulate the country’s strong e-commerce market. The company is confident that it will do well in the Philippines as Filipinos gear up for a post-pandemic economy.

An integrated, end-to-end travel experience

airasia Super App is a digital venture of Capital A (formerly known as AirAsia Group). It was introduced as an offshoot of AirAsia Philippines’ 2021 study, where respondents clamored for an integrated, end-to-end travel experience. Six out of 10 said they are keen on booking travel packages composed of flights, hotels plus tours, and activities. 61% prefer discounted flights with hotel bundles, while 59% intimated that they would go for packages of food with activities.

All these packages have since been made available on the airasia Super App and are being supported by other lines of businesses that are available in the country. There’s also a chat option where app users can interact in real-time and get feedback about the products and services that the airasia Super App offers.

Other features to watch out for in the app include the ride-hailing service “airasia ride,” digital food delivery “airasia food,” and “TravelMall,” a digital tax-free shopping platform.

“The airasia Super App has arrived in the Philippines, and we are looking forward to serving all Filipinos with three key things — convenience, reliability, and affordability,” said Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Berhad, during its launch. “We are an everyday app, for everyone, and we aim to create value for all airasia Super App users. We have grown from just an airline into a full-fledged super app with strong products across key business verticals such as travel and delivery. With the re-opening of borders across the region, we are sure that Filipinos will find the best travel deals on our super app.”

According to AirAsia’s website, the company is now also working on an inflight ordering system that will allow passengers to make purchases via mobile. This hastens the process as it allows passengers to place their orders from a digital menu instead of waiting for the food and merchandise trolleys to pass.

airasia Super App launches e-wallet in Malaysia

In Malaysia, the airasia Super App has also recently launched “airasia pocket,” an electronic wallet that enables users to reload and make payments for their in-app purchases while being rewarded at the same time.

Consumers will be able to earn airasia points upon activation as well as receive 10% off on all AirAsia flight bookings. They also get 10x airasia points with every airasia food order made on weekends.

The airasia pocket’s features are developed by Fass Payment Solutions (Fasspay), a white-label e-wallet player and an approved e-money provider by Bank Negara Malaysia.

This platform is designed to allow its partners to build and innovate on Fasspay’s full-stack payments platform and offer various payment and financial services to their customers.

Currently, top-ups for airasia pocket are available via online banking (FPX), with more options to be added in the future.
