Digital lending platform JuanHand has introduced a Top-Up Loan feature that allows eligible borrowers to apply for additional funds even while they still have an existing loan, expanding the borrowing options available to its customers.
The feature means qualified users no longer necessarily have to wait until their current JuanHand loan is fully repaid before applying for another one.
Instead, borrowers may access additional funds provided that the new loan remains within their available credit limit and that they continue to meet the platform’s eligibility requirements.
JuanHand, which is operated by WeFund Lending Corp., said the Top-Up Loan is intended to give users greater flexibility when additional financial needs arise during an existing loan period.
The company did not disclose specific eligibility criteria for the feature beyond the borrower’s available credit limit and applicable requirements.
How JuanHand’s Top-Up Loan works

Under the new feature, an eligible JuanHand customer with an outstanding loan may submit another application for additional funds.
The amount that can be borrowed will depend on the user’s remaining available credit limit. This means the feature does not automatically give borrowers another full loan on top of their existing balance.
JuanHand said eligible users can borrow again as long as the additional amount remains within their credit limit.
The company currently offers loans of up to ₱50,000, with advertised daily interest rates starting at 0.025%, subject to the borrower’s eligibility and applicable loan terms. Repayment periods are also available across selected terms depending on the loan offered to the customer.
JuanHand did not specify in the announcement whether Top-Up Loans carry the same interest rates and repayment schedules as a borrower’s original loan or whether the terms are assessed separately for each additional borrowing request.
Those details remain important for customers considering a top-up, particularly because taking an additional loan while another obligation remains outstanding increases the total amount that needs to be repaid.
Loan applications remain fully digital

JuanHand is positioning the feature as part of its broader effort to make borrowing more accessible through a fully digital application process.
According to the company, borrowers need only a registered mobile number and one valid ID to apply.
The platform uses proprietary artificial intelligence technology developed by WeFund to analyze user data and assess applications. JuanHand said approvals can be provided in as fast as five minutes, although actual approval remains subject to the company’s assessment and eligibility requirements.
The addition of the Top-Up Loan means existing users could potentially access additional credit through the same digital process without having to complete their current loan first.
For borrowers, this could provide another source of funds when unexpected expenses arise before an existing loan has been fully settled. At the same time, customers will need to evaluate the cost and repayment obligations associated with carrying more than one active loan.
JuanHand expands options for existing borrowers
The Top-Up Loan also signals how digital lenders are increasingly developing products around existing customers rather than treating every loan as a separate, one-time transaction.
For JuanHand, an established borrower’s credit limit can now serve as the basis for additional borrowing opportunities while a previous loan remains active.
The company said the feature forms part of its effort to respond to the changing financial needs of underserved but creditworthy Filipinos.
JuanHand is operated by WeFund Lending Corp., the Philippine subsidiary of New York-listed financial technology company FinVolution Group.
According to the company, JuanHand has extended more than ₱1.16 trillion in loans to over 20 million borrowers to date. It said its broader operations focus on financial inclusion, responsible lending, consumer protection and financial literacy alongside its digital lending services.
The Top-Up Loan is currently available to eligible JuanHand users, subject to their available credit limit and the platform’s lending requirements.
