Buy now, pay later (BNPL) provider Atome Philippines is expanding its ecosystem beyond retail spending, partnering with Bayad to enable in-app bill payments across utilities and government services.
The integration allows Atome users to pay for essential services — including water, electricity, internet, and government contributions — directly within the app, eliminating the need to switch between multiple payment platforms.
By tapping into Bayad’s extensive network of billers and service providers, the move positions the BNPL provider as a more comprehensive financial platform, embedding routine financial transactions into its existing suite of services.

The partnership comes as Filipino consumers increasingly look for more streamlined ways to manage household expenses, particularly as digital financial tools gain traction among both banked and underserved segments.
“Bayad is committed to democratizing bill payment access across the Philippines,” said Lawrence Ferrer, President and CEO of Bayad. He noted that the collaboration opens opportunities to reach a broader user base while making bill payments “faster, safer, and more rewarding.”
For Atome, the integration reflects a broader push to move beyond point-of-sale financing and into everyday financial management.
“Bill payments represent a significant portion of household budgets,” said Christian Quiros, President and General Manager of Atome Philippines.
“By enabling users to manage these alongside daily expenses such as groceries, food, pharmacy, and telco services within a single app, we are making budgeting and financial access more seamless,” he added.

Users will also be able to earn rewards points on bill payments, adding an incentive layer to routine transactions.
The rollout underscores a growing trend among fintech players in the Philippines to embed high-frequency use cases (such as bills payment) into their platforms to drive engagement and retention. It also reflects increasing collaboration between fintech firms and established payment infrastructure providers to accelerate financial inclusion.
With Bayad’s footprint of over 120,000 physical touchpoints and decades of experience in payment processing, the partnership strengthens the BNPL provider’s reach into both digital-first and offline-enabled ecosystems — particularly relevant in a market where cash and over-the-counter payments remain prevalent.
As competition intensifies in the country’s digital finance space, integrations like this highlight how platforms are evolving from single-use services into multi-functional financial hubs aimed at becoming part of users’ daily financial routines.
