As the Philippines accelerates its push toward digitalization, global critical digital infrastructure provider Vertiv has named a new country head to strengthen its local market strategy.

The company announced the appointment of Nico Echavarria as director for sales management and country head for the Philippines, tasking him to lead the execution of Vertiv’s growth strategy in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-evolving digital economies.

In this role, he will align local initiatives with regional and global priorities while deepening engagement with customers and partners across industries such as banking and finance, telecommunications, healthcare, government, and business process outsourcing.

Echavarria’s appointment comes at a time when demand for resilient and energy-efficient infrastructure is rising, driven by rapid expansion across digital-first sectors. The increasing adoption of artificial intelligence and data-intensive applications has further amplified the need for scalable, always-on systems.

A seasoned leader in data center and mission-critical infrastructure, Echavarria brings extensive experience in energy management and infrastructure solutions.

Prior to joining Vertiv, he held senior leadership roles at Schneider Electric Philippines and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he led initiatives supporting energy-intensive and mission-critical sectors. His work involved close collaboration with organizations to address challenges in power availability, operational efficiency, and long-term, sustainable infrastructure planning.

He also has a strong track record of working with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with both operational performance and sustainability objectives — capabilities that are increasingly critical as enterprises scale their digital operations.

“Nico brings a strong understanding of the Philippine market and the critical role infrastructure plays in enabling digital services and economic growth,” said Jordan Koh, senior director for enterprise sales in emerging markets at Vertiv Asia. “His customer-centric approach will help us better support organizations operating in environments where reliability and efficiency are essential.”

The appointment signals Vertiv’s continued investment in the Philippine market, where digital infrastructure is becoming increasingly central to both business operations and public services.

“The Philippines is seeing strong growth in sectors that rely heavily on always-on infrastructure,” Echavarria said. “We’re in a strong position to support customers as they build resilient, future-ready environments.”

As enterprises expand their digital capabilities, companies like Vertiv are positioning themselves to play a critical role in enabling the backbone of the country’s evolving digital economy.
