Uncovering cryptocurrency scams: Boy Abunda fights back against “fake articles” in crypto.com

TV host Boy Abunda has recently uncovered a series of fraudulent articles falsely claiming association with cryptocurrencies.

During the premiere of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” earlier this week, Boy addressed a fabricated article alleging a contentious interview with actress Max Collins.

The deceptive report suggested that Boy was taken aback by Max’s sudden wealth surge, purportedly attributed to Bitcoin investments made during the show.

Expressing his dismay, Boy vehemently refuted the claims, labelling them as false and emphasizing that they appeared on crypto.com, masquerading as a reputable Philippine news outlet.

Boy also disclosed that the legal team of GMA Network is now exploring avenues for legal action against the fraudulent website.

This isn’t the first instance of Boy being deceived. He recounted previous encounters, including a fictitious interview with former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, prompting calls for concern due to the widespread dissemination of false information.

Other fabricated interviews falsely linked Boy to discussions on Bitcoin with notable figures like Vice Ganda, Robin Padilla, Rico Hizon, Andrew Tan of Megaworld, and Tony Tan Caktiong of Jollibee.
Additionally, fake articles alleged Boy’s involvement in discussions on hypertension medications with physicians Willie Ong and Alvin Francisco, all of which Boy has vehemently denied.

Addressing the prevalence of such scams, Boy expressed concern about their impact and urged vigilance in verifying information from official sources to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.

“May pattern mga fake news na ito. Lahat ito ay malaking kalokohan, puro kasinungalingan, puro scam,” Boy remarked, describing the actions as worrisome and gravely dangerous.

As a result, Boy inferred that since many people aspire to be wealthy, these types of scams probably succeed and which is why they continue to exist.

By the end of the show, he recommended everyone to double-check the information by visiting their official accounts.
