inDrive and PNP-HPG partner to strengthen road safety using app-based transport mobility system and Anti-Carnapping Efforts

inDrive, PNP-HPG team up to boost road safety and fight carnapping in TNVS sector

Global ride-hailing platform inDrive has entered into a strategic partnership with the Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) to strengthen road safety education and anti-carnapping efforts across the country’s growing transport network vehicle service (TNVS) sector.

The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on January 30, underscoring a joint commitment to promoting safer roads and improving public trust in app-based transport services.

Under the agreement, inDrive and PNP-HPG will roll out a series of road safety and anti-carnapping campaigns designed specifically for TNVS drivers and passengers.

The initiative comes as digital ride-hailing platforms continue to play an increasingly important role in the Philippines’ urban mobility and fintech-enabled ecosystem, where cashless payments, in-app services, and platform-based livelihoods intersect.

“This partnership reflects our shared belief that safety is a collective responsibility,” said Sofia Guinto, Country Representative of inDrive Philippines. “By working closely with the PNP-HPG, we aim to equip our partner drivers and passengers with practical knowledge that supports safer journeys and reinforces trust in everyday mobility.”

Central to the collaboration is a nationwide series of road safety and anti-carnapping seminars targeted at inDrive partner drivers and passengers. The sessions will begin in Metro Manila before expanding to key cities across the country.

The training will focus on practical guidance, preventive measures, and situational awareness, equipping participants with tools to reduce risks on the road and respond effectively to safety threats.

PNP-HPG will deploy subject-matter experts and provide standardized training modules to ensure the content aligns with national road safety policies and operational protocols.

For PNP-HPG, the partnership offers a new channel to extend public awareness campaigns through a technology-enabled mobility platform. For inDrive, it reinforces the company’s people-first approach to digital transport services, positioning safety as a core pillar alongside accessibility and platform innovation.

“Partnering with inDrive allows us to strengthen our road safety and anti-carnapping advocacy within the TNVS sector,” said PBGEN Hansel M. Marantan, Director of PNP-HPG. “By sharing practical guidance through these seminars, we can help drivers and passengers recognize threats early and respond appropriately.”

The initiative reflects a broader trend in the Philippine fintech and digital services landscape, where platforms are increasingly working with government agencies to address real-world risks linked to digital transactions and on-demand services.

As TNVS platforms integrate digital payments and app-based operations, safety and consumer confidence remain critical to sustaining growth.

Through the partnership, inDrive and PNP-HPG aim to establish a long-term, collaborative approach to road safety — bringing together technology, education, and law enforcement expertise.

Both parties said they will engage local stakeholders as the program rolls out nationwide to ensure the seminars remain accessible and relevant to drivers and commuters alike.

As app-based transport continues to expand across the Philippines, initiatives such as this highlight how public-private cooperation can help safeguard users while supporting the country’s evolving digital mobility and fintech ecosystem.
