HitPay, Visa team up to fast-track card payments adoption among Filipino SMBs

HitPay-Visa partnership aims to lower cost barriers and expand digital acceptance nationwide

Singapore-based payments platform HitPay has entered into a strategic partnership with Visa Acceptance Solutions to accelerate card acceptance among millions of Filipino small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that remain excluded from digital payments due to high setup costs and complex onboarding processes.

The collaboration connects HitPay directly to the Visa Acceptance Platform (VAP), enabling local merchants to accept card payments across in-store, online, and mobile channels without the need to secure their own individual bank acquiring contracts — an obstacle that has historically slowed digital adoption for smaller enterprises.

With the integration, SMBs can access affordable EMV-certified card readers, mobile tap-to-phone solutions, and instant e-commerce payment setups, positioning the partnership as a significant push toward broader cashless transformation in the Philippines.

A boost for PH’s evolving digital commerce landscape

Digital commerce in the country continues to surge as Filipino consumers increasingly demand fast, seamless, and secure payment experiences. By pairing HitPay’s no-code, full-stack payment platform with Visa’s global network, the partnership aims to give entrepreneurs a frictionless path to modernizing their payment infrastructure.

HitPay’s expanded capabilities through VAP will allow merchants to activate payments “in minutes,” providing secure and flexible omnichannel solutions at scale. According to Visa, merchants that accept card payments typically see up to 83% higher turnover, underscoring the business impact of digital payment readiness.

“Our mission at HitPay has always been to make digital payments accessible to every small business,” said Aditya Haripurkar, CEO of HitPay. “Through our connection to the Visa Acceptance Platform, we are removing the long-standing friction and cost barriers that kept many Filipino entrepreneurs from embracing card acceptance. This gives them the tools to truly participate in the country’s rapidly expanding digital economy.”

Kunal Chatterjee, Head of Acceptance Sales, Value-Added Services, Asia Pacific at Visa, emphasized that an open-platform strategy is central to increasing financial inclusion across the region. “By working with partners like HitPay, Visa is bringing the strength of our global acceptance network to local businesses in the Philippines. Together, we are helping merchants deliver the seamless, omnichannel experiences that Filipino consumers expect.”

Regional expansion on the horizon

Following the Philippine rollout, HitPay and Visa — through Visa Acceptance Solutions — plan to extend their partnership across Southeast Asia, aiming to replicate the model in markets where card acceptance remains underpenetrated.

The goal is to unlock simple, secure, and affordable digital payments for more regional SMBs.
