HitPay and Ingenico launch ‘all-in-one’ digital payment system to empower Filipino MSMEs

The race to digitize small business payments in the Philippines just gained major traction, thanks to a new partnership between BSP-regulated fintech firm HitPay and global payment technology leader Ingenico.

The two companies have launched an all-in-one smart terminal system designed to simplify digital transactions for Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

By integrating HitPay’s software platform with Ingenico’s advanced terminal, the solution allows merchants to accept virtually any type of payment — from credit and debit cards to QR-based wallets like GCash and Maya — through a single device.

The initiative, which aims to onboard 10,000 MSMEs over the next two years, marks a significant investment in the country’s digital economy and underscores growing confidence in the Philippines’ fintech and retail sectors.

Simplifying payments for a cash-lite economy

For many small business owners, managing multiple payment channels — each with its own system, reconciliation process, and compliance requirements — remains a daily struggle.

HitPay and Ingenico’s new solution eliminates that complexity by streamlining all payment types and back-end functions into one unified platform.

The system also helps MSMEs access faster settlements and improved cash flow, critical advantages for businesses that operate on tight margins. Beyond processing payments, the integrated terminal can issue invoices, automate recurring billings, and provide real-time business insights, giving entrepreneurs the tools they need to make smarter operational decisions.

Aditya Haripurkar, Co-Founder and CEO of Hitpay

“As the Philippines accelerates its ‘cash-lite’ goal, SMEs need to provide choice, speed, and security at checkout without being overwhelmed by complex software, multiple reconciliation steps, and high integration costs,” said Aditya Haripurkar, Co-Founder and CEO of Hitpay.

“Our collaboration with Ingenico goes beyond terminals and transactions; it is about democratizing access to enterprise-grade tools, giving SMEs the confidence to play their full part in the Philippines’ digital future,” he added.

Powering inclusion through innovation

The partnership taps into both firms’ strengths: Ingenico’s global network of payment technologies and HitPay’s regional ecosystem of over 25 payment partners, including banks, e-wallets, and alternative payment providers. Together, they are offering MSMEs a level of interoperability and security typically reserved for large enterprises.

According to Xavier Michel, Head of Southeast Asia Channel Markets at Ingenico, the goal is to ensure that Filipino MSMEs are not left behind as the region’s commerce landscape rapidly evolves.

“Ingenico’s mission has always been to simplify payments for businesses of every size. By working with HitPay and leveraging a comprehensive network of payment and banking partners, we’re giving Filipino SMEs access to secure and innovative tools that allow them to grow and stay relevant in a fast-changing market,” said Xavier Michel, Head of Southeast Asia Channel Markets, Ingenico.

Boosting key sectors: Retail, F&B, and tourism

The rollout of the HitPay–Ingenico system is initially focused on high-growth sectors such as retail, food and beverage, and tourism — industries that have experienced a strong rebound following pandemic disruptions and are now leading the shift toward digital payment adoption.

With more local and foreign travelers opting for cashless transactions, small merchants stand to benefit from the system’s ability to process both domestic and cross-border payments seamlessly. This inclusivity is especially vital for tourism-related businesses catering to international visitors accustomed to contactless payments.

The push for a more resilient digital economy

Industry analysts see the collaboration as another sign that digital payment infrastructure in the Philippines is maturing — and that MSMEs are beginning to embrace fintech solutions once seen as out of reach.

HitPay, already serving more than 20,000 small businesses across Southeast Asia, operates under the supervision of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

The company’s compliance with local financial regulations ensures that merchants using the new system enjoy secure, transparent, and BSP-aligned operations. For many Filipino entrepreneurs, the partnership represents more than just technological convenience — it’s a step toward greater financial inclusion and competitiveness in the digital marketplace.

According to Haripurkar, empowering small businesses with the same tools as big enterprises levels the playing field. “And when MSMEs thrive, the entire digital economy moves forward,” he beams.
