The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has taken a significant step towards enhancing public access to financial information and services with the launch of its new mobile application, “BSP Mobile.”

The app, officially launched last April 14, 2025, is designed to provide Filipinos and investors with a more convenient and user-friendly way to connect with the central bank.

Querubin, and Managing Director Charina B. De Vera-Yap.

The launch ceremony, held at the central bank’s head office in Manila, was led by BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat. “The BSP Mobile App is our way of staying connected with the public,” stated Deputy Governor Romulo-Puyat during the event.

“It allows users to check key rates and public announcements, locate coin deposit machines or BSP offices, file complaints through our chatbot BOB, and stay updated with BSP news and advisories,” she added.

User-focused design promotes enhanced interaction and accessibility

Managing Director Charina B. De Vera-Yap emphasized the app’s user-centric design and its potential to foster greater interaction with the central bank. “This new platform aims to enhance your experience and encourage greater interaction with the BSP,” said De Vera-Yap.

“Once downloaded, the app can be accessed anytime, even offline, and offers personalization to match your specific needs and interests,” she added. This offline accessibility is expected to be particularly beneficial in a country where internet connectivity can sometimes be intermittent.

Director Reynaldo Florencio T. Zipagan highlighted the importance of user feedback in the ongoing development of the app. “With the official launch of the BSP Mobile app, we look forward to all of us becoming champions, promoting the app, and helping improve it through your valuable feedback,” he urged. This call for user engagement underscores the central bank’s commitment to creating a tool that truly serves the needs of the Filipino public.

Developed entirely in-house by the central bank’s own team, the new app is intended to complement the existing central bank website, offering a mobile-optimized and personalized experience. The app leverages the capabilities of mobile devices, such as push notifications and location services, to provide a more dynamic and responsive user experience.

New app to empower users with essential information and services

The app boasts a range of key features designed to empower users with essential information and services. One of the standout features is the service locator, which helps users easily find the nearest regional offices of the central bank. This feature is expected to be particularly useful for individuals and businesses seeking in-person assistance or information.

Another key feature is the real-time push notification system, which delivers the latest news and advisories directly to users’ devices. This ensures that users stay informed about important developments and policy changes from the central bank, promoting greater financial literacy and awareness.

For consumer protection, the app includes the BSP Online Buddy (BOB), a chatbot designed to assist consumers in filing complaints against institutions supervised by the central bank. This feature streamlines the complaint process, making it easier for consumers to seek redress and promoting accountability within the financial sector.

In a unique and interactive feature, the app includes a section dedicated to the 1000-Piso Polymer banknote. This feature encourages users to explore the design and security features of the banknote, helping to educate the public about currency security and build confidence in the national currency.

The central bank has committed to the ongoing enhancement of the BSP Mobile app, with plans to introduce even more features and services in the future. This commitment to continuous improvement reflects the central bank’s dedication to leveraging technology to better serve the Filipino public and promote financial inclusion.

The BSP Mobile app is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The central bank encourages all Filipinos and investors to download the app and take advantage of its convenient features.
