GoTyme Bank rolls out in-app crypto trading to bring digital assets closer to Filipinos

Digital-only GoTyme Bank has unveiled GoCrypto, a new feature inside its mobile app that lets users buy, sell, and hold cryptocurrencies without needing a separate exchange. The move positions the bank as one of the first in the country to weave crypto trading directly into a traditional banking platform.

The rollout is part of GoTyme’s push to widen financial inclusion by giving customers easier access to emerging investment products in a familiar, regulated environment.

Instant access to major tokens

Bank-integrated and beginner-friendly

With GoCrypto, users can trade 11 established digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), among many other digital assets.

The curated list from GoTyme app is designed to help both newcomers and seasoned users explore different crypto options without the hassle of jumping between multiple apps.

Because the feature sits entirely within the GoTyme app, customers can manage their bank accounts and crypto holdings in one place. The streamlined setup reduces the typical friction associated with crypto trading — an approach the bank hopes will attract Filipinos who may be curious about digital assets but hesitant to navigate separate exchanges.

GoTyme says the unified interface offers faster access and simplifies the learning curve for first-time traders.

Security and compliance take center stage

Before activating GoCrypto, users must complete a risk-profiling assessment, ensuring they understand the volatile nature of digital assets. All transactions remain inside the app, reducing exposure to external risks and strengthening account protection.

As a licensed Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP), GoTyme operates under regulatory oversight — an added assurance for customers who want to explore crypto without stepping outside a governed financial framework.

What’s next: Stock trading by 2026

The bank says GoCrypto is only the first step in a broader investment roadmap. GoTyme is preparing to launch in-app stock trading by early 2026 through a partnership with a stock brokerage firm. The planned expansion will allow users to handle traditional banking, crypto, and stock investments within a single platform.

The feature arrives as the bank continues to gain traction nationwide, backed by rising deposits and an expanding network of in-store kiosks in major retail hubs.

A step toward mainstream digital investing

With GoCrypto, GoTyme Bank is pushing digital asset trading further into the mainstream, offering an accessible entry point for everyday Filipinos interested in exploring crypto. By merging convenience, compliance, and a growing suite of investment tools, the bank aims to make its app a one-stop hub for modern financial needs.
