GoTyme Bank, Wise partner to revolutionize international remittances for millions of Filipinos

GoTyme Bank, one of the country’s fastest-growing digital banks, has partnered with Wise Platform, a leading global payment infrastructure provider, to make international money transfers faster, cheaper, and more transparent for millions of Filipinos.

The collaboration marks Wise Platform’s first partnership in the Philippines and its first International Receive partner in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC).

On the other hand, the integration enables GoTyme Bank’s more than 7.8 million customers to receive cross-border payments seamlessly through the GoTyme Bank app.

Tackling long-standing pain points in global remittances

For decades, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families have faced persistent challenges when sending and receiving money from abroad — from high transfer fees and hidden charges to slow transaction times and unclear exchange rates.

Through this partnership, GoTyme Bank users can now receive international payments over SWIFT from more than 11,000 banks worldwide, covering 23 major currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, and SGD.

Each transaction offers full pricing transparency and faster settlement, ensuring recipients get more from every peso sent home.

Empowering Filipino families through inclusive, seamless banking

Remittances remain a cornerstone of the Philippine economy, with OFWs sending over US$38 billion annually — among the largest inflows in the world. Yet, according to research by Wise, Filipinos lost approximately US$170 million (₱9.74 billion) in hidden fees in 2024 alone.

The new GoTyme Bank–Wise integration aims to eliminate these losses by making remittances simple, secure, and fully transparent. With just a few taps on the GoTyme Bank app, customers can share their account details with senders abroad and receive funds quickly.

Recipients can withdraw their remittances for free at more than 1,400 Robinsons Retail partner stores nationwide, making the service convenient even for those without easy access to traditional banking branches.

“Our collaboration with Wise is about creating a trusted remittance experience that feels effortless,” said Nate Clarke, President and CEO of GoTyme Bank. “By combining Wise’s world-class technology with GoTyme’s simple, beautiful banking, we’re redefining how Filipinos support their families, grow their ambitions, and stay connected to what matters most.”

Redefining cross-border banking in PH

For Wise, the partnership underscores its global mission to make moving money across borders as seamless as sending a text.

“This partnership exemplifies Wise’s mission to build the infrastructure for the world’s money,” said Samarth Bansal, APAC General Manager at Wise Platform. “Payments sent over SWIFT have long faced hidden charges and delays. GoTyme Bank is now the first in the Philippines to change that trend.”

Bansal added that Wise has spent 14 years developing infrastructure that allows money to move faster, cheaper, and more transparently — technology now extended to partner banks through Wise Platform.

Setting a new standard for Filipino remittances

As digital banking continues to grow, customers increasingly expect international transfers to be as quick and reliable as domestic transactions. The GoTyme–Wise partnership sets a new benchmark for cross-border payments in the Philippines — combining GoTyme Bank’s accessibility with Wise’s proven global infrastructure.

Together, the two companies aim to give millions of Filipinos a faster, fairer, and more efficient way to receive money — helping turn every remittance into an opportunity for growth and connection.
